ABOUT
Peace! My name is Jeremy Ives Viray, better known as B-Boy “Icey Ives.” I’m a Filipino American, born and raised under the midnight sun in Anchorage, Alaska. Growing up, I tried out many sports, but it wasn’t until 2007 that I discovered the art of Breaking at a local rec center. From that moment, my passion for breaking took off.
In the summer of 2015, I earned my first out-of-state titles at the Mighty4 and Freestyle Session events in Northern California. That same year, I took my next step as a student of this art form and Hip-Hop culture when I was inducted into Rock Force Crew—one of the world’s most successful crews, founded in 1983.
With the guidance of Rock Force, I went on to win national and international titles, elevating my B-boy career to new heights.
Breaking has blessed me with the opportunity to travel across the globe 🌍, and it’s been eye-opening to see how dance can unite people, even without speaking the same language. It’s given me a deeper appreciation for the resources we have and the power we hold to impact others through our art.
When I’m not on tour, I’m dedicated to giving back through my local business, Flow Zone Dance Studio, where I aim to inspire and motivate others to evolve their craft. I’m also passionate about building Alaska’s street dance community by organizing hip-hop events and bringing artists together under one roof.
Currently, I’m working with the Anchorage School District through Flow Zone’s breaking program, sparking a new generation of leaders to carry on the tradition of Hip-Hop in Anchorage, Alaska. ✊
